Why Prince Andrew Has Surrendered His Official Titles – and the Implications for the Royal Family
In a statement issued by the royal household, Prince Andrew has confirmed he is relinquishing his royal titles, including the Duke of York. Here is an overview of what was revealed – and what wasn't.
What Did the Prince Announced?
Having already stepped down as a working royal in 2019, Andrew has now decided to “go a step further” and consent to refrain from using the “honor or the honours which have been conferred upon” him.
